Saving...
Reckon you'll get this page either days before or after the first one but it's just another rambling letter with nothing important in it, seems as tho every one I write could be a carbon copy of the last, for there is nothing very interesting to write about. Carried my bed out to air for the sun shone nicely most of the day and there was a brisk wind blowing. Certainly makes these G.I. blankets a lot nicer if they can be aired often, they sure need it too for they've been used pretty steady without the benefit of laundering. Gosh I won't know how to sleep in a bed with sheets when I get back home again. Almost every day we see big flocks of ducks and geese flying over. I think they must winter along a river close by for they don't seem to be going any place in particular, just cruising around. They don't look the same as ours back home, not so big and not so colorful. Haven't read much, usually at night I'm tired and our lights aren't so hot. Right now tho I'm reading a western thriller which is certainly not overtaxing my mind and can be picked up and read with little thought. Most all the books sent overseas are mysteries which I particularly dislike. Went to a town a few miles from the base day before yesterday after some cement so I had an outing. There was nothing to see and the day wasn't very pleasant. How I'd hate to live over here. Love Johnny
