Saving...
February 14, 1945 Italy Dear Dad & Mom: Almost forgot this was St. Valentines day until I noticed on my calendar tonight, don't believe I saw any of the fellows get any this year not even the usual comic ones. Got two Unions last night both around Christmas & New Years issues, not very recent news but I could check up on the old home town. Read Art Johnsons letter in one of them, he's had the opportunity to cover Italy pretty well hasn't he. I may get a chance to go to Rome myself pretty soon at least I am looking forward to it. Had a note from spud Ballard in last nights mail but as yet we haven't met. I'm going over if the opportunity presents itself and he is coming over if he has the chance. It's been a beautiful day, almost warm had my blankets out to air, there was enough wind to shake them up good. That's the next best thing to the laundering they need. I have a bunch more snapshots now, plan to send home a box of odds & ends before so long and I'll put them in. I've accumulated a lot of snaps from different fellows which are quite good. Tomorrow will be a busy day for me but work I like to do so it isn't bad. Will sure be
