Saving...
boy, seems a shame for such a youngster to have asthma. I always thought that kind of came on with age. Tomorrow we have another inspection, uniform, bunk, area, etc. etc. Guess that's army and one of the reasons I'd never make a good soldier. Can't kick too much tho for we haven't had many. Don't know how come that picture got to the Waterloo paper. Those things are done thru the Public Relations Office, usually kind of dumb I think. Good for civilian morale I reckon. We noticed the bright star too that you mentioned, rather thought it was Venus but I fear the astronomy I took in college has most all left me. Seems funny the same starts show up no matter where you are on the surface of the globe. They are doing some painting or rather whitewashing in our service club. Also find that the roofs are ornamental and wear well no doubt but are mighty cold without insulations under them. We have put old pasteboard underneath ours & plan to seal it further with heavy paper. The whole United States must be having a rough winter we are always getting reports of cold weather, heavy snows etc. Seems like old Iowa is getting her share too. Guess I'll sign off. Love Johnny
