Saving...
February 25, 1945 Italy Dear Dad & Mom: Another good day, warm and pleasant and nice to be working outside. Was quite busy today and I'm going to hit the hay before so very long. Had a real surprise in tonights mail, a long letter from Johnny Gronan. Hadn't heard anything of him nor seen him for ages, he saw that dumb write up & picture in the Waterloo paper which prompted the letter I reckon. Also got a V-mail and an air mail one written January twenty second which told of my money coming thru, it made good time it seems. Also told of Bill Johnstons marriage, glad it was such a nice affair. I feel like Vivian does about D. Crowe she'd drive me nuts I'm sure. So you have a fur trading post on our corner you should get a cut on it for furnishing the location, you could have an office in the front room too. Be a great racket for a side line. I think what Ralph Pixler said about their moving was right. I heard the same thing recently but don't know exactly where he is now. They aren't far tho I'm sure. and perhaps I'll see him again before too awfully long.
