Saving...
a good job. Washed my wool sweater and a pair of sweat sox yesterday, the sox were almost dry and I was finishing them up in a hurry by the fire and scorched them pretty badly. Hate it too for I like to wear them with my house shoes after supper. It will soon be warm weather tho I hope and I have another pair a little lighter weight which will do. Reckon will get paid tomorrow, or perhaps the next day. Those two or three days seem to make the month a lot shorter. Glad we get paid by the month instead of by the day. Will get a few cents more this month because of old fogey pay, which is five percent of your base pay for each three year hitch put in. Gosh I don't know why everyone thinks I've lost weight, think I'm as heavy as ever, darn it. My clothes seem to have their usual bulges and all my chins are still present. Glad to hear Aunt Jennie is at home again and getting on nicely. Still haven't written to her Better sign off - Love Johnny
