Council of National Defense Woman's Committee Minnesota Division Minnesota Commission of Public Safety Women's Auxiliary Committee Minneapolis, Minn. July 13, 17 My dear Mrs. Whtley, I have been in St. Paul six days at our conference- 80 delegates from the counties. They gave us the House of Representatives (imagine me in the speakers' august seat!) - and the governor and Safety Commission met with us at one session. One session at the Farm School with [illegible] bread cooking demonstrations. Now it seems impossible to answer your questions by telegram. We have given up trying to do Registration and Pledge Card together. We have been unable to untangle some of the differences of opinion in time-- and this serves the psychological moment for the Honor pledge. My body is waiting for it. We have had 250,000 printed, and started shipping them to town and county chairmen today. Our Safety Commission met with great hostility-- from labor agitation during a news survey of man power, and they think state-wide woman registration
