4 The very rough sketch shows how it forms a buffer between It. Eritrea and Somaliland, & Anglo-Egyptian Sudan & Kenya. One wonders what the French would say to having their small, but strategic possession, Djibuiti (believe the purists call it Jibuti) swallowed up. There seems very small chance of avoiding a war which Mussolini has obviously had in mind---his mania of re-creating a Roman Empire out of the ruins of the British Empire is leading him to the brink of a dreadful abyss. I don't know what the attitude in U.S. is (apart from the wise one of not interfering in Europe's messy affairs) but I think the British government and people have shown commendable indifference to the rabid anti-British
