Saving...
There is one town - Noumea - of any size, and it is not a large town. All the buildings are a most unusual architecture - mostly one story and with much evidence of corrugated tin and shutters. All are in soft pastel shades - pink, green, yellow, tan, white. Some palms, of course, and many beautifully colored flowers and flowering trees. We have just passed through a winter season and there were not nearly as many flowers in bloom as when we came but they are starting to bloom again now in every color. Our hospital is some distance from town located on the side of a mountain with a beautiful valley and the ocean ahead of us and a gorgeous range of mountains behind us. I only wish I had time to develop my water coloring. My hand is breaking from all the letters I've written tonight. Maybe someday I'll get caught up.
