July 16, 1945 Dear Helen - Shall I scream - or sit tight and merely scrawl a letter? I might very well startle the other 60 people in the room if I did the former. It's 4:15 and I've not a stitch of work left. I'm amused, to think once that would have appealed to me - no work - But on the whole, the job isn't so bad. In some ways Its Rather fun to Interview social workers for here & overseas. That there is a terrific need for them (750) and 650 rec. workers is factual - but people don't stream in. All above a prefix to saying the package arrived, Badly mauled but undamaged - and It was sweet of you to bother. I can Imagine that It was - Nellie writes they also heard from you - I "stink" - differently every day now! Edna Busse Graves & I had
