-Cake- Newell Tea Cake Mrs. R. 3 cups flour - 2 of sugar - 1 of milk 4 eggs - 2 teaspoon C tartar - 1 of soda piece butter size of an egg - flavor to taste. Providence. Mrs. Swains 4 tumblers flour - 2 1/2 of sugar - not quite 1 of butter - 1 of sweet milk - 3 eggs 1 teaspoon soda in milk - Juice & rind of 1 lemons - the last thing before putting into the oven. This makes 2 cakes Raised Bread. Mrs Glover 3 Lbs raised bread - 1 1/2of sugar - 1 1/2 of butter - 7 eggs - 3 Lbs fruit - 1/2 teaspoon cloves 2 nutmegs - peel & juice 1 lemon - 1 wineglass brandy - 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon - the dough made sweet with saleratus if made of leaven. Rough & Ready. Mrs R. 1 pt bowl sugar - 1 of water - 1 teacup butter - 4 eggs - 1 teaspoon soda - 2 of C tartar - 3 pts flour - nutmeg
