Saving...
July 1, 1945 Trinidad Dear Dad & Mom; Will write this morning for we changed shifts and I go to work at four this afternoon. Didn't know it till this morning after we went to work or I might have slept late. Hope we don't work too long on this shift tho it's better than a graveyard shift. Was in the P.X. yesterday and some G.I. had a monkey which sat up and drank coke out of a bottle like a man. Several of the darn things around Camp, but don't believe I'll get one. Our C.O. has a little dachshund, cute little fellow, dark brown and a pure bred. Its funny to see him running thru the wet grass, he hates to get wet and when he comes to a puddle he doubles up like a measuring worm to keep his belly from dragging. Wrote to Bill this morning and sent it to his home to be forwarded don't know when he will get it but sometime perhaps.
