July 17, 1945 Trinidad Dear Dad & Mom: Have just been gathering my laundry together to send out and I seem to have an awful slog of it, almost a barracks bag full. Change sox every day to keep from getting athletes foot and so far I haven't even had a touch of it since. I've been in the Army though they say it is yours down here. Don't want it if I can help it. Didn't get up until almost noonday, was cool so I could sleep. Worked just a little late last night, must have been about two this morning when I got to bed, wonder what it will seem like to get home and work and sleep normal hours. Who is the little (can't read) boy you mentioned in a letter I got today? Should I know him or is he someone new in the neighborhood?You know how you get after grandma for thinking you should know all the newcomers in the
