September 3, 1945 Trinidad Dear Dad & Mom: Didnt go to Tobago after all for just time to go it started pouring down rain. Continued most of the afternoon quit an hour or so and now is back at it. Sky looks very black and as tho it could easily rain all night. I'll bet Myra's golden rod had to go when Pop got home or he'd have been snorting & sneezing like a good fellow. She brings wild flowers every year doesnt she. We'll both have to set out windbreaks on the farms now the R.E.G. had to cut down so many of your trees. I didnt have any except those sorry box elders. Wonder what would be the best kind for quick growth etc. Those poplars like are in Harry Wengers yard seem to have grown quite rapidly if they'll
