September 4, 1945 Dear Dad & Mom: You'll soon be getting another one of those personal affairs sheets like you got when I was in Italy. Found out about connecting insurance also, there is no hurry about it for the policy can go on the way it is for several years after I get out and then I can change it when I find out how much I'm capable of paying. Twenty payment would run about three hundred a year I think. Food was punk today, mutton for dinner and stew for supper but fat as I am it shouldnt bother me any. The sandwich P.X. is closed tonight so I cant sneak over there later on. Didnt go back to work after I finished at the personal affairs office and got some envelopes then to the P.X. where I got a
