Saving...
guess there was five inches fell for it rained really hard for so long. The drainage ditches were brimming full and water standing all around but its drained away now. This country has sure had a thorough washing and believe it will get more tonight. Had stew again tonight and it was wretched old tough stringy meat, mostly gravy also had hot butterscotch pudding which wasnt very appealling with the outside temperature being what it is. Gosh sounds like Dads hogs sold well they must have been big to bring almost eighty two dollars a head. That's fine, he & Anton must be good farmers. Seems like Minnie W. is always having some accident, sorry to hear of her latest and glad she wasnt banged up any more. Mom take it easy laundering up all my stuff, it's a big job & I can send them to [place?] or someplace. It makes too much work for you. I sent home a box yesterday with nine towels, some sox & wash rags and that nice toilet kit you folks sent me some time ago. Sent it parcel post so it may take awhile for it to reach you. Yes I too hope the last bunch of envelopes [Valdi?] typed up will be enough and I hope not too many of them. Would suit me fine if I could tell you I was leaving for home tomorrow but I cant, perhaps soon tho. Must write the Hays and tell them I got the picture, they are cute little dutch gals. I've owed them a letter quite some time. Well cant think of anything more. Love Johnny
