Saving...
Seems like you are always painting or varnishing something Mom, you should be quite expert at it. Soon you'll be cutting out Art Earle & Pete Fass. Takes a lot of patience for those puttery old jobs like painting pipes & radiators. I dont blame Bob Granger & [name?] for leaving off their uniforms, sure will feel good to get out of G.I. clothes & into overalls or something else that is your own. I'm tired of wearing someone elses clothes. Heard over the radio today that Congress is really getting on the War Department, hope it's true. I feel myself there is a lot of funny business goes on which should be investigated. Wish Milan & Jimmie could get out of the army & navy and home. If they do they've had a lot of experience and training they couldnt have had otherwise and not too bad a time. Traffic must have picked up since gas rationing went off if you've started having accidents on our corner. It isn't a good one tho unless they climb the parking & [gorge?] it up a little. Seems like about all I've written the past few days is my getting out but that's the thing which is foremost in my mind. The [illegible] are flying hot & heavy. Nothing more tonight -- Love Johnny
