Thursday evening. Heaven be praised, this is the last night. Our fog continued all last night and most of to-day, forcing us to go slowly. We shall be somewhat later in landing as the result. It had been expected that we should reach the pier early tomorrow morning. Now we are told that it will take until noon at least to get up. After that the customs will take us a bit, and we'll be loose in New York. I shall make a bee-line for the Sherman Square hotel, where I hope to find Norris waiting for me. We have planned a few days there together while I am picking up some information about the New York newspapers. We may stop then in Washington a day or
