Saving...
March 11, 1945 Italy Dear Dad & Mom: This has been a grand day and not too busy for me. Just kind of monkeyed around with odd jobs and tinkered. My foot has been kind of sore all day but not bad, kind of like a big blister with the top worn off, wont care tho if it gets the wart. Had a grand air mail letter from you tonight and I really enjoyed it. Was mailed the twenty sixth and is the most recent one I've had, also got a Des Moines service edition. Went to the show at the service club last night but it was punk. In the first place it was far too crowded and so noisey that one couldnt hear. There was an Italian orchestra and a singer and dancer but nothing to rave about. Seems as tho you've had lots of buyers for Grandma's house, but I suppose it is nice to be able to choose ones neighbors. If you could always get renters like the Rhudes it would be no trouble to have. I've often wished you folks could sell your house and have a smaller one it seems too much to care for and heat for such a small family. I expect you couldnt get any where near its actual value being the style it is but if you could or felt like it I'd say
