Saving...
March 31, 1945 Italy Dear Dad & Mom: Another fine day, warm & sunshiny played ball again this afternoon and worked out yesterdays stiffness. Surely wish I could do it every day for Im sure it would do me good. Had our P.X. today quite generous got a couple of extra things, a good shaving brush for one as my G.I. one is starting to lose it's bristles. Only cost about four bits and is a good rubber set brush, they certainly dont hold us up for stuff when it is available. Got paid this afternoon too, my fogey pay just nicely covers my insurance so its nice to be getting it but hope I never see another five percent. Bill and I are on the wake up list at a quarter to five in the morning so we can get to the sunrise services. Certainly hope the weather is fair and I think it will be for the stars are out bright now. Shotgun is getting smart, whenever he catches a mouse now he brings it to one of us to see and stands around to be praised and petted or rewarded with a bit of candy or whatever we can find for him.
