Saving...
Italy Dear Dad & Mom: Will write a short one tonight before I hit the hay. Not as pleasant this evening the wind is blowing gale which makes out tent house fairly jump up and down. The center pole creaks and groans and the flaps slap against the walls, but our stove makes it warm so we're sitting pretty. Walked down from chow again tonight for the leg exercise when the weather is nice it's a pleasure but not so tonight. Got my P.X. ration this noon, didnt amount to much this week, a cake of soap, some dentifrice, couple of candy bars, pack of gum and some peanuts. Dont know what gave my pen the notion of blotting but blot it did and I'm too lazy to write this over again. Very little mail again tonight and none for me. There was U.S.O show on the field today but I was busy and didnt go guess it was very ordinary anyhow from reports I've heard. Just shaved and trimmed my moustache maybe I should grow a handle bar one like that old fellow down in Brainard, cant think of his name but Dad will know who I mean. One of my friends has a red one and the handles are about two inches long, he's been with us for about two years and a half, not many of the old bunch still in the group we're scattered out over the whole country. Love Johnny
