April 17, 1945 Italy Dear Dad & Mom: Another busy day and a nice one to be out and stirring. Was quite cold when I got up this morning about five thirty but as the sun came up it got real warm and during the middle of the day I went without my shirt. Didnt have to stand the inspection today for I was busy. Our house got a good cleaning anyhow so I reckon its a good thing. Got three letters tonight one from our old squadron barber Danny, one from Carroll & Beulah Morris and a nice long air mail one from you mailed the tenth which is the best time any have made for a long time. I'm listening to Bob Hopes program so it's hard to keep my mind on what I'm writing. I think
