Last night over in the hangar some of the fellows had an iguana in a box. They are a fearsome looking creature but I guess non poisonous. You know they are those big lizards, this one was about four feet long I expect. The natives say they are fine eating similar to chicken but I'll stick to real chicken and forget the ersatz. Saw a native with a bunch of roots or so they looked to me I asked him what they were and he said cassava very good when boiled. One could live off the jungle down here easily if you just knew what to pick for fruit ripens the year around. Never gets cold enough to need heavy clothes or fuel so living would be cheap. It's the perfect place for a negro, no racial distinction and an easy going life. Had ice cream at the P.X. this aft and it was very good, they run out usually before we go to work so are out of luck. Love Johnny
