Saving...
August 5, 1945 Trinidad Dear Dad & Mom: Got up earlier than usual this morning to go to the P.X. after I got there it wasnt open so I wasted my time. Would rather have stayed in bed anyhow, now will have to go back after one P.M. Had a letter from Uncle Raymond this morning it must have been last nights mail for we get none on Sunday morning. He sent me a dollar for my birthday. Wrote to Jim & Irma last night after I got back from the show, it was a wretched movie "Army Wines." Was so hot in the theatre I fairly sweltered. Came by the P.X. and got a coke then to the barracks & stripped to my shorts so I got cooled off. As usual washed a few clothes yesterday while I had some time off. They arent dry yet but maybe by the time I go to work I can put them in my barracks bag.
