can, hope he gets a good furlough or discharge. A bunch of native carpenters are busy fixing up the steps at a neighboring barracks lumber rots out very fast down here. They arent very speedy workmen but are quite thorough. Its so dark in the barracks I can scarcely see to write, how its raining again such a downpour I can scarcely hear the radio just across the room. The gutters outside are running full and the water is almost to come over the threshold & in the barracks. Got your letter mailed the third, this morning. Love Johnny
