August 8, 1945 Trinidad Dear Dad & Mom: Last night we had lots of excitement over in our hangar. Some time ago we heard that correspondents from Life, Time and several other leading magazines & papers were coming here to look over our project. There must have been twenty come thru last night asking questions, looking at our work etc. This A.T.C. sure gets a lot of publicity by hook or crook. Sometime soon you may be reading about it. Im reading Canal Town now and find it quite good. Western New York in the early eighteen hundreds, we get so many historical novels in the special service books. Be nice if Uncle Raymonds can go to see Milan travel must be quite a problem but I do hope they can make it. They are certainly deserving of a little vacation. Had to go over to the orderly room this morning and fill out a card stating whether we wanted to remain in the army until the present emergency was over or would we accept a discharge on the point system. You can guess what I put
