Saving...
August 12, 1945 Trinidad Dear Dad & Mom: It's cool right now for it's raining very hard outside was stuffy as could be before so it's a welcome relief. Coming in a different direction for a change so several beds are getting wet. Had a letter from Grandma & Aunt Cora this morning couldnt make out any of Grandmas tho Im sorry to say. She probably asked me questions and will wonder why I didnt answer them but dont know what I can do. Got one from you too mailed the ninth. Still sweating out surrender news which seems imminent. Dont have a Sunday noon newscast so didnt hear just lately. We heard rumors that if V.J. day is declared the men having eighty five points would almost automatically be discharged. Dont see how they can throw so many men loose at once tho. Glad Caryl Kohls got well situated in Waterloo, hope she likes her school. Is she going to that Gates Business College, I remember when we were kids how we used to like to have Gates come and talk to us. About once a year he would be there and was very interesting.
