Saving...
August 17, 1945 Trinidad Dear Dad & Mom: Boy we had a good dinner today dont know just what the occasion was perhaps a belated victory celebration. Had turkey, mashed potatoes, peas, olives, chopped pickle relish, raisen bread & pumpkin pie. Plenty of it and well cooked. Last night while we were working a WAC Lt. & four or five other officers came in the hangar and started looking around & asking a lot of questions. I got cornered and pumped from all sides, before I knew it they had a microphone out and were recording the conversation. I was so scared I dont even remember what I told them. It is for a program which goes on the air every Sunday afternoon over the Mutual Broadcasting Network. Army Hour, or something of the sort. Plenty corny at any rate. So one of these Sundays you'll be hearing it perhaps. The WAC said she'd write me when it would be on, so if she doesnt forget it I'll let you know. I used to walk a couple of blocks away from the roving reporter at Waterloo because I dont think much of that sort of thing. Guess this outfit travels all over the world wherever G.I.'s are stationed making these programs. We have already started to get in replacements
