Saving...
to get mail while we are here but there was nothing today but we only got here yesterday afternoon. I will really be glad to get away from this country, it may have been all right before the war but its no good now in many ways. Of course a move is always exciting and we may not be satisfied when we leave but at least its toward the states. We had a sad thing happen, the little dog Salvo which I've written about was to have been flown home in a plane but at the last minute the crew went off and left her. We brought her along and are going to try and get her on the boat with what success I dont know. Shotgun is a bum and can shift for himself very well but Salvo I'm afraid would grieve herself to death if left alone. It's not fair to adopt a dog when you might have to leave them. This will probably be the last letter for awhile but might write again if we're here for awhile. This should relieve your worries for awhile for I'll practically be in the back door yard -- Love Johnny
