Dear Dad & Mom:
Tired of reading so will write a few lines tho I dont know what about. Im reading "The Sun is My Undoing" right now and am about half way thru it. Had chicken for dinner today but not too well prepared. Perhaps when I get permanently assigned we will have a better mess. Some of the other fellows say their chow is very good. Boys in this barracks play a lot of hearts & casino and seem to enjoy themselves at least it passes the time. Also we pitch horse shoes quite a lot. Dont have a radio now but there is one upstairs that usually plays loud enough to entertain the whole area. The local station puts on a pretty good program of transcriptions & regular programs from the states & at night one can get the regular stations from the south part of the states.
