Probably Dec 19, 1917 Dearest - I'm going down to send you a wire immediately after this is done, and then as soon as your explanatory letter arrives I'll send you a night letter to tell you when I'll come & all about it. This is going to be a rather incoherent "effort" because of the confusion going on about me but I want to tell you I've been writing every day; began the same day you left, and surely by now some of my letters have reached you.
