Saving...
sweethearts of long years are happy today in possession of a common understanding delicious in its ripeness and fullness. It is easy to look forward to the time when we shall celebrate our forty-sixth anniversary, for it will be like yours. We shall hope for nothing better than that we may sit at the fireside in the afterglow as content because of the years of devotion to each other as you are. We are not as fortunate in one respect at least as you were when you started life together out there on the prairie. You had each other for keeps, while we must part almost before we have begun living. But it will be for but a little time, we hope - a few months, or a year, or two. That is to be our supreme sacrifice. We can say our, "I could not love, thee, dear, so well, loved I not country more." and go our separate ways until the world has been made a safe place in which to establish our home. Then will begin the happy days that will see celebration of wedding anniversaries, all, we hope, as happy and beautiful as yours is today.
