Aalmira sep 17 1861 Dear father and mother I take this present moment to write you a few lines. We got here safe and sound. We got Byron and went down to Syracuse There we met Mr Friaby [?] and Captain Petit. We got dinner there. We started for almirae at 1 o'clock we got to Genevea at 5 o'clock. There we got on the steam boats. We got to the uper end of the lake about 8 o'clock. We staid there about 2 hours.
