before our Army has been weakened a great deal by sickness and ball more by sickness than the ball. but few know what hardships the Army of Virginia has had to endure. I had not been under a covr for 9 months before I came here, but the states have responded well. New troops are crossing the river evry day in So Virginia. MacCellen has advanced a little the other day they took 1,000, prisoners and 2 small battrys I hope this thing will be brought to a close soon but there has got to be a bloody battle fought yet. Pope has got command of MacDowell and Fremonts Army Those 2 Gen. ought to have been shot longe ago. Now they have got a man who will do his duty you will see his
