Camp I do not know some where in a gap about a 1/2 mile wide east of the Shenandoah Oct 20 Dear father as I have this little recipt of paper and nothing to do I thought I would write an answer to your letter of the 15 which I got this morning. We have made a vey unexpected move Wensday at 11 Oclock our Division had a review just before sundown at night orders came for us to get 3 days rations and move across the Shenandoah river. Hancocks Division in less then 20 minutes we were all ready for the march. We fell in behind our Brigade and were on the road about dark. We
