McClellen isent to blame for all this he has been used like a dog not like a man every thing well untill the 1st of June or till Hallrach and Staunton were put in Office the 1st June 62. We were so we could see Richmonds steepels but where are we now. If the arthority at Washington had let McDowell corporate with McClellen we shall have been in Richmond in stead of where we are now but no they left McClellen alone to contend with the rebel Army 3 times our number but he brought us out all safe after 7 days of hard fighting in the hottest days of the year he done what no other man could do. There lay McDowell with 60,000 thousand men within 15 miles of our
