Saving...
We have been ready to move ever since wensday [sic. Wednesday] but teousday [sic Tuesday] night it began to rain and rained till wensday [sic. Wednesday] night it is the hardest rain we have had since last spring. The river was all above the banks. To day it is cloudy does not look like clear weather yet. Sturtes [sic. Jeb Stuart's] cavalry crossed at Kellys ford last Sunday. Our cavalry has gone out after them. I do not know what all fighting JoH [sic. Joe Hooker] will do but I expect the cry North is why dont the army move. If folks called McClellen [sic. McClellan] slow I don't know what they will call fighting JoH [sic. Joe Hooker] but I am getting out of news to write so I will close from your son C A G
