We cross the Potomac & Shandoah [sic. Shenandoah] Nere [sic. near] Harppeys [sic. Harper's] Ferry on the 17th and have come up the same road we came last fall. We haven't seen any rebels in force yet our cavalry has gone off toward Warrenton. We have seen lots of bushwackers. We have layed [sic. laid] in camp all day to day and we are glad of it for it is the first time we have had to wash our clothes in a good while. We have got every thing washed up ready for a long campaign again. I haven't heard from Lon in a good while I would like very much to here from him. We do not get our mail regular Now we are moveing [sic. moving] about so much. I haven't much to write. The boys from our place are all well but Lafayette
