Saving...
5 battery on us we held our ground till all of our Aminition was gone then we fell back behind our line this was Sunday night that ended the fight for that day. We were orded back to the fort. There was no fighting on Monday or Tuesday but a little picket firing. Tuesday morning we were orded across the river and took up a possition on this bank. Wensday morning at 7 oc our army was all on this side of the river and we came to our old camp here again it rained all the way and Mudd there was no end to it. The reason why we fell back to this site I can't tell. We could hold our position there without any trouble. We loss 12 men wounded, 13 horses killed Lieuteonent G. B. Slauson
