Brothah McCluah, Miz Stockahd's brothah in lawe, came tonight from Kanzcity. He is a very nice old soul - a rebel Methodist, by the way, but a nice man anyway. When I "shaken" his hand he said, "Uh huh, Miz Reynolds, ma'am, ya' all put one ovah, as the sayin' is. Ya' recollect ya' asked me laist yeah to the big party, when evah it should come off." I couldn't think, for a minute, what on airth he meant, but finally I remembered that I had promised him that if I were married while still a Cottey teacher, he should read the service. So I said, "Well Brother McClure, you were too far away at the time, or I'd surely have sent for you; but as it was I had the very next nicest Methodist I knew." And he was very pleased to know we were married by a Methodist. He is coming up tomorrow, to see your pictures and hear all about you, and I shall love to talk with him because it makes me happy when I'm speaking of my wonderful lover.
