Saving...
I'm celebrating tonight at the Officers' Club. For three nights I stayed out at the caserne and worked faithfully. Tonight I can loaf with conscience free. My comrades are chattering around a table a few feet away. They have excused me for a few minutes while I pay my respects to the dearest girl in the wide wide world. Am I writing the things you want, honey? You must tell me. It is no longer your privilege to let me go untaught concerning your wishes. You must be quite frank. I want to make you know that you are everything to me, but my letters are sometimes hurried, sometimes rather abrupt -- chiefly because of the influence of external conditions under which I write. And I send them forth at times with the silent hope that you love me so much that the imperfections of letters will not be visible to you. I kiss you, darlingest, a thousand times. Your hubby, Con.
