In this connection, perhaps you will be interested in the enclosed letter. I never heard of the lady or the others she speaks of, so evidently the letter was not meant for me. But as I am Mr. Reynolds, I opened it. Wish I knew how to find her man for her, but as there isn't much chance I'll send it to you for your entertainment. Tell all the girls I am for their idea of entering the U. when we establish our den there, and we'll let them live off'n us if they want to. Having happiness and giving it is better than getting rich any way. Nice of "Brother Laise" to felicitate us. Have I never mentioned Ruby? Well then, tell her I send my love - a father's love; I don't want any more misunderstandings about how I regard her. But she's a charming daughter, and perfectly heroic to freeze her "Geo. W. Behind" off carrying letters to me for you. Your mos' loving hubby. C.
