that I learned I was to come here, The battle for my valuable services had been fought out with the result that the department which had me first lost. The chief decided that because of my newspaper experience and the special information I had gathered in France and England in 1916 concerning the censorship and correspondents I would be most valuable in this branch. So, late Yesterday afternoon I piled my baggage into the big National that had come for me and took a ____ mile drive across country toward the front. Arriving shortly after dark I found Lieut. Mangan, one of my War College classmates, had a fine dinner and put up with him for the right. This morning I got a billet and established my "home" again - a process which consists chiefly of dragging in a bag and trunk, unpacking your picture and a few articles for daily use, and establishing cordial relations with the dame de la maison My room has no fireplace this time, but is otherwise tres agreable.
