perhaps they would be right in the belief. But I'll try hard to prove they are wrong. I came away so fast that I did not even get to learn how much excitement the big news caused among my friends back home. Just before we sailed, an officer from the censor's office came aboard and told us how our mail would be handled. I tried to dash off the main details in a letter to you written in the few minutes before the ship pulled away. Lest I may not have done the job well, let me explain again. Mail should be addressed to me as follows: Lieut. Conger Reynolds, A.G. Dept., N.A., Unassigned, American Expeditionary Forces.
