girls have bad sore throats, so I was naturally wakeful. I've been trying to play nurse in four different parts of the building and it keep me hopping. There are quite a few cases of smallpox & diphtheria in town and we've had all the girls vaccinated. You can imagine that there are some sick girls here now. I can feel for them because I remember my own experience. We are "making up school" today -- some that we were supposed to lose Christmas vacation. For about eight Mondays we'll have to "have school" in the morning. It makes me tired. Old tight wads.
