from you in that way. Some of the girls have been telling me about the rules of censorship. You needn't tell me a thing about the war. I know we'll "fix it" now that we are in. Tell me that you are well, and happy to be serving, and that you love me lots. Tell me that your shoulder will be ready for my head the minute you come home to me. If you don't tell me some of these things quick I'll know I've dreamed it all. I'm sending your helmet with this letter. I do hope it reaches you. I meant to send it yesterday but didn't get to town. I love you dear - all the more intensely because I have been all these years before the realization of it came to me. And you are my soldier husband of whom I am gloriously proud. My goodnight kiss - and now I am going to dream of you. Love from the little mother. Your very own Daphne.
