hurrah for you! Recalling your correspondence with the secretary of the Gov. of Iowa I know you are no shrinking violet about writing to people if you want to do it. I suppose you would not feel any unnecessary hesitancy about establishing diplomatic relations with my good friends - no more'n I would with yours. Stew bad indeed, that we didn't have the Sanborns come down while you were in Washington. I am very eager to have you like them and I should feel more confident you would if I could interpret on the basis of my acquaintance with them some of their characteristics that may seem a bit odd at first.
