By the way, if you ever want to cable me, use the address, - Lieutenant Conger Reynolds, Intelligence, Headquarters, Amexforce. The Western Union has special rates for telegrams - or cables - to men of the A.E.F. Weekend rates about 5 cents a word, I believe. By cable, with this address you could probably reach me within a week and you might get a message through in a day or two. Arrival of letters is a great event in the life of everyone over here. A man who has had the good fortune goes around reading where all his envious comrades can see and marvel and hate him for his luck. I don't know why it is - the distance and the strangeness of the surroundings perhaps - but news from home acquires extraordinary importance.
