shall yet see her once more I sent father a copy of general order No. 8 since then the adjutant has read another order purporting to come from Mc.Clellan revoking that one and ordering the person to prison some think however that it is a ruse of the officers to quiet the privates while others think it all right if the order did not come from Mc.Clellan the officers are playing a pretty deep game There is now a petition or rather statement of our case going through the regiment and they are all signing it laying the case before Mc.Clellan and asking for our discharges what it will amount to time will show and we are waiting perhaps none too patiently for the result of the statement
