you that was almost as clear and real as reality. I dreamed we were driving. We stopped at the head of a pretty valley, got out, and walked among the trees. I found a bunch of wild flowers and put them in your hair. And then you put your arms about my neck and kissed me. Even in the dream I was thrilled by your kiss as I used to be when I came home to you evenings in Washington. Next morning the sweetness of the dream lingered to gladden me as effectively as the after-memory of a bad dream could have depressed. Of course, dreams don't count much, but I'll take mine like this one was rather than like the bad ones. And I hope you don't have any more bumpy ones, 'cause they're not nice. Dearest, it's fine of you to be genuinely lonely for me. It
