time you arrive because she is wonderful too. My associations with all of them have for years been among the happiest things of life. Incidentally, I have learned a lot from them about the art of entertaining that I home to follow someday in our house. Your troubles over the numbers of your letters remind me of a comment a captain made the other night about his wife's similar difficulties. In three successive letters she had said she couldn't remember the last number and would have to guess. Every letter was numbered seventeen. Whether you number or not makes no difference just so they keep coming as they have been. You've written "lots and lots and lots and lots"- I thank heaven and you for that - but there aint no such thing as enough of 'em to satisfy my desire to hear from you. I really don't deserve so many of such excellent quality. Mine, though numerous, are generally rather no 'count: I feel
